Job Description
Lead data engineering projects, supervising teams in designing pipelines, processing large datasets, and implementing secure storage solutions.
Lead complex data engineering initiatives, overseeing the design, implementation, and management of critical data infrastructure. This role requires significant experience in large-scale data processing and team leadership within a dynamic environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Supervise technical projects focused on designing and implementing robust data pipelines to ingest and process large volumes of data from various enterprise applications (e.g., USCG, DHS, DoD).
* Oversee projects involving the processing and analysis of extensive datasets utilizing distributed computing, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks.
* Develop and implement scalable, secure data storage solutions using Big Data technologies such as Amazon S3 or Azure Data Lake Storage, alongside various data management tools.
* Lead and manage project teams, including setting priorities, scheduling work, and conducting performance evaluations for subordinates.
**Required Qualifications:**
* **Experience:** Minimum one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level (federal or private sector) demonstrating the ability to perform the duties described above.
* **Technical Proficiency:** Proven experience with data pipeline architecture, distributed computing frameworks, machine learning/deep learning, and Big Data storage solutions (e.g., S3, Azure Data Lake).
* **Core IT Competencies:**
* **Attention to Detail:** Thorough and conscientious in work.
* **Customer Service:** Assess needs, provide solutions, and ensure quality.
* **Oral Communication:** Effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
* **Problem Solving:** Identify issues, evaluate options, and recommend solutions.
