Summary

Seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to lead complex facility operations, modernization, and budget management for large sites.

Join our team as a Facilities Operations Manager, leading critical programs for large historic or commercial facilities. This role demands proven leadership in managing complex operations, modernization initiatives, significant budgets, and representing the organization on key technical matters.

  • *Key Responsibilities & Experience:**
  • Manage and execute complex facilities operations or modernization programs for large historic or commercial facilities.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to engineering-architect and facility operations and maintenance staff.
  • Plan, formulate, and execute operating and capital budgets, including preparing budget justifications.
  • Represent the organization on technical matters at high-level meetings concerning building operations.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • Meet United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualification requirements for this position.
  • Possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the Federal GS-14 grade level, encompassing the responsibilities outlined above.

The Architect of the Capitol is the federal agency responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex. It is an agency of the legislative branch of the federal government and is accountable to the United States Congress and the Supreme Court. Both the agency and the head of the agency are called "Architect of the Capitol". The head of the agency is appointed by a vote of a congressional commission for a ten-year term. Prior to 2024, the president of the United States appointed the architect upon confirmation vote by the United States Senate, and was accountable to the president.
