Job Description

Summary

Senior Engineer/Manager (GS-15) to lead large capital asset programs, supervise teams, and drive strategic infrastructure initiatives.

Join our team as a senior leader, overseeing complex engineering and infrastructure programs. We seek an experienced professional to manage large-scale capital assets, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive strategic initiatives at the GS-15 level.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Lead and manage large-scale capital asset or facilities programs within complex engineering or public infrastructure environments.
  • Supervise multidisciplinary professional staff, including performance management, hiring, training, and team development.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide policy and strategic plans for capital investment, asset management, or infrastructure operations.
  • Manage multimillion-dollar budgets, allocate resources, and utilize performance data to drive program outcomes.
  • Serve as a senior advisor or spokesperson for engineering and asset management programs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and review legislative change proposals, policy revisions, and budget/resource proposals with program-wide impact.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • *Education:**
  • A positive Education Requirement is mandatory; submit transcripts with your application.
  • **Option A:** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a curriculum including differential/integral calculus and advanced courses in five of seven specified engineering science/physics areas.
  • **Option B:** Combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience demonstrating thorough engineering knowledge and practical understanding. This can be met by:
* Professional registration/licensure (Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE)). * Successfully passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination. * Completion of at least 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, including courses specified in Option A. * A bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., engineering technology, physics, computer science) plus at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.

  • *Experience:**
  • Minimum one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the federal or private sector.
  • Specialized experience must include the Key Responsibilities listed above.
  • **Note:** Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-15 grade level.
  • Qualifying experience includes both paid and unpaid (volunteer) work.
