Job Description

Summary

Ensure aviation safety by inspecting multi-engine aircraft and upholding FAA regulatory compliance, requiring an A&P certificate.

We are seeking a highly qualified Aviation Safety Inspector (Airworthiness) to ensure air carrier maintenance compliance and airworthiness standards for multi-engine aircraft.

  • *Key Qualifications:**
  • **General Requirements:**
* Not more than two Federal Aviation Regulation violations in the last 5 years. * Valid State driver's license. * Fluency in English. * No chemical dependencies or drug abuse affecting job performance. * High school diploma or equivalent.

  • **Medical Requirements:**
* Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently (with or without reasonable accommodation). * Good distant vision and ability to read typewritten characters (glasses/contacts permitted). * Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted). * No physical conditions hazardous to self or others, or that interfere with flying as a passenger. * **For roles requiring aircraft operation:** Valid FAA second-class medical certificate and recurrent medical exams. * **For roles not requiring aircraft operation:** Documentation from a board-certified physician certifying minimal medical requirements, or individualized assessment if requirements are not met.

  • **Specialized Airworthiness Experience (Minimum 1 year equivalent to FV-J/FG-14):**
* Extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and systems of multi-engine aircraft (>12,500 lbs) under an airworthiness maintenance and inspection program. * Maintenance experience gained in a repair station, air carrier/airline facility, military facility, or government agency. * Experience involving the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems with responsibility for certifying airworthiness. * Aircraft maintenance work experience within the last 3 years (recency waived for current 1825 series applicants). * **Required:** FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings. * Experience monitoring and evaluating air carrier maintenance programs for compliance with regulations and standards. * Ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences (meetings, presentations, reports). * Thorough knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and organizational objectives. * Supervisory and strategic leadership experience.

  • **Preferred Qualifications (Quality Ranking Factors):**
* Demonstrated experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS), specifically Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 5, as it pertains to a Part 121 Certificate Holder (provide examples). * Demonstrated experience with the FAA Integrated Oversight Philosophy, FAA Order 8000.72 (provide examples).
