Seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Inspector to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance in diverse aviation specialties.

## Aviation Safety Inspector (1825 Series)

Join our team as an Aviation Safety Inspector, playing a critical role in ensuring aviation safety through rigorous oversight, inspection, and the application of FAA regulations across various specialties.

### Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct extensive certification, inspection, and surveillance for Air Carrier or General Aviation Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, Aircraft Dispatch, Cabin Safety, or Rotorcraft-Helicopter.
  • Develop and interpret FAA regulations, policies, and guidance for aircraft and aircraft systems operation, maintenance, inspection, alteration, or repair (e.g., Advisory Circulars, Orders, Policy Memorandums, Safety Alerts for Operators).
### Requirements:

#### General Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Not more than two Federal aviation regulation violations in the last 5 years.
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
#### Medical Requirements:
  • Physically able to perform duties safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good distant vision in each eye and ability to read typewritten characters (glasses/contacts permitted).
  • Ability to hear conversational voice (hearing aid permitted).
  • No physical condition causing hazard or interfering with flying as a passenger.
  • **For positions requiring aircraft operation:** Possess a valid second-class FAA medical certificate and pass recurrent examinations.
  • **For other positions:** Provide documentation from a board-certified physician certifying minimal medical requirements, or undergo an individualized assessment if requirements are not fully met.
#### Experience:
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J/FG-14 level.
  • **Specialized experience must include:**
* Extensive participation in certification, inspection, and surveillance for Air Carrier or General Aviation Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, Aircraft Dispatch, Cabin Safety, or Rotorcraft-Helicopter. * Developing and interpreting FAA regulations, policy, and guidance directly related to aircraft and aircraft systems operation, maintenance, inspection, alteration, or repair (e.g., Regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Policy Memorandums, Safety Alerts for Operators, Legal/Policy Interpretations with broad application).
  • *Recency of experience is waived for applicants currently in the 1825 series.*
#### Highly Desired (Quality Ranking Factor):
  • Experience in the Office of Safety Standards and/or Safety Assurance, supervising (K-band level) cross-organizational policy issues as a team lead or subject matter expert.
  • Proven ability to publish Regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Policy Memorandums, Notices, Safety Alerts for Operators (SAFO), Legal Interpretations, or Policy Interpretations with broad, national, or international application.
