Summary
Strategic Communications Manager needed to lead content and strategy for a federal client focused on school safety initiatives.
Chevo is seeking a **Strategic Communications Manager** to support a high-visibility federal client focused on school safety and public education initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced copywriter and expert communicator with strong project management skills.
As the Strategic Communications Manager, you will lead a small, multidisciplinary communications team (social media, graphic design, web development) and serve as the primary point of contact for the federal client team.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- **Content Development:** Write, edit, and produce clear, compelling content for various mediums, including fact sheets, emails, toolkits, infographics, website copy, media releases, talking points, and FAQs. Translate complex government programs into accessible language for diverse audiences.
- **Project & Team Management:** Lead workflow, task delegation, and deadline management for the communications team. Oversee client review cycles, maintain content calendars, and lead content planning meetings.
- **Strategic Messaging:** Brainstorm and execute strategic communications campaigns aligned with program goals. Develop narrative frameworks to consistently communicate the importance of client resources and policies.
- **Subject Matter Expertise:** Develop a deep understanding of the client’s mission, policies, and strategic priorities.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years of professional experience in a communications, public affairs, or strategic messaging role.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor tone and content to specific audiences.
- Demonstrated experience developing content for digital platforms (websites, email).
- Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex information.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting strict deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with frequent client interaction.
- *Desired Qualifications:**
- Experience supporting federal clients or public-sector communications campaigns.
- Familiarity with school safety, public health, emergency management, or education policy.
- *Salary & Benefits:**
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000, eligible for performance-based bonus.
