Licensed Psychologist sought by the VA to deliver comprehensive patient care, assessments, and consultation for diverse veteran populations.

Join the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a Psychologist, providing vital mental health services to veteran populations. We are seeking dedicated professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care, conduct assessments, and offer expert consultation across various settings.

  • *Responsibilities (May Vary by Grade Level):**
  • Apply a wide range of professional psychological treatments and assessment methods.
  • Design and implement effective treatment strategies for diverse patient populations.
  • Incorporate new clinical procedures and evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct or contribute to clinical research activities, including design, implementation, and data management (for positions with research duties).
  • Provide professional advice and consultation on psychological and behavioral health matters.
  • *Minimum Requirements:**
  • **U.S. Citizenship:** Required.
  • **Education:**
* Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counseling, or Clinical Neuropsychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program at the time of completion. * *Note: Degrees in School Psychology are not eligible for this role within VHA.* * *Alternatively, a successfully completed APA/CPA accredited re-specialization program with an approved internship may qualify.*
  • **Internship:**
* Completion of an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship consistent with the assignment. * *Other specific VHA-approved internships or Board Certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) may also qualify if the original internship was not accredited.*
  • **Licensure:**
* Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. State, Territory, or District of Columbia.

  • *Experience & Grade Levels (GS-11 to GS-13):**
  • **GS-11:** Meets all basic requirements (education, internship, licensure).
  • **GS-12:**
* At least one year of professional psychology experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. * Demonstrated ability to apply diverse treatments/assessments, design strategies, incorporate new procedures, and potentially contribute to research.
  • **GS-13 (Full Performance Level):**
* At least two years of professional psychology experience, including one year at the GS-12 level. * Demonstrated ability to apply treatments to the full range of patient populations, provide expert professional consultation, and possess knowledge of clinical research literature.

  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • 2+ years of VA Psychology experience.
  • 2+ years of telework experience.
  • Experience with Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs (MH RRTP).
  • *Important Notes:**
  • Applicants pending completion of educational or licensure requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.
  • This position's hiring range is GS-11 to GS-13, with a full performance level of GS-13.
