Summary

Seeking a GS-13 Staff Psychologist to deliver advanced psychological treatments, requiring doctoral education, licensure, and experience.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is seeking a highly qualified Staff Psychologist (GS-13) to deliver advanced psychological treatments and expert consultation.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide professional psychological treatments to diverse patient populations.
  • Offer expert advice and consultation in professional psychology and behavioral health.
  • Utilize knowledge of clinical research literature to inform practice.
  • *Requirements:**
  • *Citizenship & Language:**
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • *Education:**
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program (Clinical, Counseling, or combinations). *Degrees solely in School Psychology are not eligible.*
  • *Alternative paths may include:* approved re-specialization programs or specific doctoral degrees awarded between 1951-1978 with a psychological dissertation.
  • *Internship:**
  • Successful completion of an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship program.
  • *Alternative paths may include:* sanctioned VHA psychology internship programs, pre-1979 VHA internships, current Board Certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) for non-accredited internships, or supervised internship experience for specific doctoral degrees awarded between 1951-1978.
  • *Licensure:**
  • Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • *Experience (GS-13 Level):**
  • At least two (2) years of experience as a professional psychologist, with a minimum of one (1) year equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
  • *Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**
  • Ability to apply professional psychological treatments to a full range of patient populations.
  • Skill in providing professional advice and consultation related to psychology and behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of clinical research literature.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP).
  • *Note on Board Certification:**
If your internship was not APA or CPA accredited, you must be board certified by ABPP in a relevant specialty and maintain this certification.
