Job Description
Summary
Seeking a licensed Physician with an MD/DO degree and completed accredited residency to provide medical care to Veterans.
This position requires a dedicated physician to provide medical services, adhering to established qualifications.
- *Basic Requirements:**
- **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship is required. Non-citizens may be considered only when qualified citizens are unavailable per VA policy.
- **Language:** Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- **Education:** Possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year of study completion.
- **Licensure:** Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- **Residency Training:** Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program, leading to eligibility for board certification.
- *Physician Resident Provider (PRP) Note:**
- Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited residency programs who meet basic appointment requirements may be eligible for "Physician Resident Provider" (PRP) appointments.
- PRPs must be fully licensed (not a training license) and can only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis.
- PRPs are supervised and operate within a restricted scope of practice, not as independent practitioners.
