Summary
Lead enterprise internal platform development as a Staff Engineer, focusing on the Associate Portal with strong CMS and cloud expertise.
GEICO is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join our Enterprise Engineering team, focusing on the Associate Experience platform. This role is pivotal in transforming our IT model to engineering excellence, by developing high-performance, low-maintenance, and zero-downtime platforms that enhance the associate experience. You will lead the development of our enterprise Associate Portal, ensuring a personalized, seamless, and innovative platform.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide technical leadership across enterprise engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with product managers, team members, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems.
- Architect, develop, and enhance enterprise applications, specifically the Associate Portal.
- Drive software development strategy and ensure quality, usability, and performance of solutions.
- Mentor junior associates, sharing best practices and improving processes.
- Innovate and build new systems, improve existing ones, and identify opportunities for critical problem-solving.
- *Required Technical Skills & Experience:**
- **Extensive experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly developing and customizing landing pages in SharePoint and expertise with AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) or equivalent platforms.**
- Fluency in at least two modern languages such as Java, React, Python, C#, or C++, with strong object-oriented design skills.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in professional software development within a Java framework (J2EE, web containers).
- Experience building micro-services oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs.
- Strong background (7+ years) in architecture and design of new and current systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
- Experience with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, DevOps concepts, and Cloud Architecture (Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency with cloud services (5+ years with AWS, GCP, or Azure), including Azure platform and native services.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and various Azure tools.
- Understanding of security protocols: Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth, and Azure Network.
- In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and transfer research to production.
- *Education:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/work experience.
- *Salary Range:**
- $115,000.00 - $230,000.00 annually.
