Job Description

Summary

Experienced Accountant/Auditor sought to analyze financial data, manage systems, and provide strategic financial guidance.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for a senior accounting and auditing role. Relevant experience can come from the public sector, private sector, or volunteer service; federal experience is not required.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Prepare, analyze, interpret, and present complex accounting and auditing data.
  • Operate, maintain, and modify accounting systems.
  • Utilize accounting information to recommend solutions for management problems and organizational program structures.
  • Manage, operate, and analyze cost accounting systems for manufacturing or other business activities.
  • Design, implement, and assess internal control processes and systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and evaluation, covering corporate finance, public finance, securities, international finance, money markets, investments, and banking, as well as organizational financial and management structures.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Basic Requirements (Choose ONE):**
* **Education:** A degree in Accounting, or a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration) that includes or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law). * **or Combination of Education and Experience:** At least 4 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent blend of accounting experience, college-level education, and training demonstrating professional accounting knowledge. This must also include one of the following: * 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (up to 6 hours of business law). * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate obtained by examination. * Completion of a degree with substantial accounting/auditing coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours), plus successful full-performance level work in accounting/auditing, and a demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of accounting as evaluated by professional accountants.
  • **Specialized Experience (GS-14 Equivalent):**
* A minimum of one year of specialized experience performing duties similar to those listed under "Key Responsibilities," demonstrating a high level of difficulty and responsibility, typically equivalent to a GS-13 federal grade level. This includes advanced experience in financial analysis, system management, and strategic advisory roles.
