Summary

Seeking an Accountant/Auditor to analyze financial data per GAAP; requires specialized accounting education or experience.

We are seeking a qualified professional for an Accountant/Auditor role within the Federal Service. This position requires strong foundational accounting knowledge and practical experience.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Assisting in the recording and analysis of financial accounting data for commercial enterprises.
  • Ensuring compliance with U.S. and/or foreign Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • *Qualifications:**

To be considered, applicants must meet one of the following basic qualification paths:

  • **Option A: Education**
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or * A degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration) that includes or is supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of business law).

  • **Option B: Combination of Education & Experience**
* At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and professional accounting training. * Additionally, your background must include ONE of the following: * 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (up to 6 hours of business law). * A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate obtained via written examination. * Completion of a degree with substantial accounting coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours), provided you have full-performance accounting experience and your knowledge is validated by professional accountants.

  • *Specialized Experience (GS-11 Level):**

In addition to basic qualifications, candidates must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service. This includes:

  • Experience assisting in the recording or analyzing of commercial financial accounting data maintained according to U.S. and/or foreign GAAP.
  • *Education Substitution for GS-11 Level:**
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or
  • Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree (e.g., LL.M., if related).
  • A combination of the required experience and education may also qualify.
