## Attorney-Adviser (Tax) - Special Counsel (GS-15)
We are seeking a highly qualified Attorney-Adviser (Tax) - Special Counsel to provide expert legal guidance and support on complex tax issues. This role involves advanced legal interpretation, research, and preparation of critical legal documents.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and interpretation of Internal Revenue Laws.
- Prepare and review legal briefs, pleadings, and private letter rulings.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on Qualified Plans, Health and Welfare Plans, Executive Compensation, Exempt Organizations, or Employment Tax issues.
- *1. Education:**
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
- *2. Bar Membership:**
- Active member in good standing of the bar of a State, U.S. Commonwealth, U.S. territory, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- *3. Experience (GS-15 Equivalent):**
- **4 years of post-Bar Admission professional legal experience**, which must include:
- *Note:* Both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
- *4. Education Substitution:**
- An LL.M. degree in a relevant field (tax, GLS-related, or P&A- FOIA/Disclosure related) may substitute for one year of general legal experience.
