Join BAE Systems as a Full-Stack Web Designer to develop, secure, operate, and maintain critical federal government websites. This role requires expertise across the entire development lifecycle, from user interface design to backend logic, database management, and cloud deployment, ensuring strict compliance with federal standards.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage comprehensive full-stack web application development, integration, and sustainment.
- Design and build visually appealing, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces across various devices.
- Develop robust server-side logic, create secure APIs, and manage server infrastructure for efficient data processing.
- Design, implement, and manage databases, ensuring data integrity, performance optimization, and robust backup solutions.
- Automate deployment processes, manage Azure cloud infrastructure, and implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient delivery.
- Apply stringent security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption, conducting regular audits and code reviews.
- Identify and resolve bugs, optimize performance, and maintain code quality through thorough unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Ensure applications meet Federal Web site requirements, including Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to continuously enhance development practices.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Active Top-Secret Clearance is mandatory.**
- 5+ years of experience with React (JavaScript/TypeScript) for frontend component design and state management.
- 3-5 years of experience with Node.js (or equivalent) for backend development, including RESTful APIs and authentication/authorization.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2017 (T-SQL, performance tuning, migrations, backups).
- Hands-on experience with IIS 7+ and Akamai CDN configuration.
- Proficiency in Azure cloud services: App Service, Azure Functions, ARM/Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Expertise in Git (CLI) and designing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (or similar).
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization, and data encryption.
- Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, with experience in accessibility testing tools (e.g., axe, WAVE).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Selenium).
- *Preferred Skills:**
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Splunk, New Relic).
- Prior federal government web experience and additional security certifications (SEC+, CISM, CEH).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code beyond ARM (Terraform, Bicep) and US Web Design System (USWDS).
- Ability to mentor junior staff and lead code review sessions.
