Senior UI/UX Designer Employment Type: Full-Time, Experienced

CGS is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to support a large Federal agency, focusing on cutting-edge technology solutions and government innovation. This role requires a collaborative, proactive individual with deep expertise in user-centered design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive UX design efforts, including research, blueprinting, and system evaluation.
  • Manage the design and implementation of multiple concurrent sites and applications.
  • Conduct user research and analysis to inform highly usable web and application interfaces.
  • Collaborate with engineers and clients to deliver innovative, intuitive design solutions.
  • Develop wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Create scalable design resources to support project collaboration and service expansion.
  • Mentor and lead junior designers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • 10+ years of combined professional UI/UX and User-Centered Design experience.
  • Strong online portfolio showcasing research-driven responsive web and mobile application designs.
  • Expertise in user research methodologies, UCD principles, and UI design standards.
  • Advanced understanding of user personas, user flows, and affinity mapping.
  • Proficiency in the full website development lifecycle (discovery to evaluation).
  • Experience evaluating existing systems to identify UX issues and propose solutions.
  • Proven ability to design 508 and US Web Design System (USWDS) compliant web and mobile applications.
  • Experience carrying designs from initial wireframes through to high-fidelity UI mockups.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe xD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Self-motivated problem-solver with high standards for quality and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Creating and modifying data visualizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-focused communication skills.
