Summary
Seeking an expert Senior Social Worker (GS-12) with advanced clinical licensure and specialized experience to serve Veterans.
Join our team as a Senior Social Worker (GS-12) to provide advanced clinical social work services. We are seeking an expert in a specialized area of practice with a commitment to Veteran care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply specialized interventions and treatment modalities (individual, group, family counseling, psychotherapy, advanced psychosocial/case management).
- Conduct differential diagnosis and treatment, incorporating complex causation within clinical privileges.
- Develop and implement methods for measuring practice effectiveness and utilize outcome evaluations.
- Provide specialized consultation, guidance, and role modeling to colleagues and students.
- Expand clinical knowledge and contribute to policy/procedure development within the service area.
- Potentially provide clinical supervision for social work licensure.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Current state licensure/certification for independent social work practice at the master's degree level.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER (GS-12) QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: At least two (2) years of post-advanced practice clinical licensure experience, with one (1) year equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Demonstrated advanced practice skills and judgment, serving as an expert in a specialized area. Licensure/Certification: Current state licensure or certification at the advanced practice level (typically includes an advanced generalist or clinical ASWB examination, or grandfathered status). Ability to provide supervision for licensure. Preferred Certifications: Certification or post-master's training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university in a specialty area (defined curriculum/course of study, internship, or equivalent supervised experience).PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Familiarity with working with Veterans, especially those in Pain Clinics or programs addressing mental illness and pain syndromes.
- Skill in evidence-based practices in a Veteran-centric environment.
- Minimum two (2) years in specialized social work practice within mental health and substance abuse treatment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting (15-44 lbs.), carrying (under 15 lbs.), reaching, using fingers and both hands.
- Capable of walking, standing, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Requires rapid mental and muscular coordination, near and far vision, depth perception, color distinction, and hearing (aid permitted).
- Must maintain emotional and mental stability; involves working closely with others and independently.
