Seeking a Senior Social Worker (GS-12) with advanced clinical licensure and specialized experience to provide expert care and supervision.
## Senior Social Worker, GS-12
Join our team as a Senior Social Worker, providing expert clinical social work services and leadership within a specialized practice area. This role demands advanced clinical skills, judgment, and the ability to mentor less experienced professionals.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities, including individual, group, family counseling, psychotherapy, and advanced psychosocial case management.
- Conduct complex differential diagnosis and treatment within approved clinical privileges.
- Develop and implement methods for measuring the effectiveness of social work practice, utilizing outcome evaluations to improve treatment services.
- Provide specialized consultation to colleagues and students, serving as a role model for effective social work practice.
- Expand clinical knowledge, and contribute to policies, procedures, or practice guidelines within the service area.
- **Citizenship:** U.S. Citizenship is required.
- **Education:** Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited school. A doctoral degree is not a substitute.
- **Licensure:** Current state licensure or certification to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
- **Experience:**
- **Advanced Practice Licensure/Certification:** State-licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, which includes passing an advanced generalist or clinical ASWB examination (or grandfathered status).
- **Supervision Ability:** Must be able to provide clinical supervision for social work licensure or certification.
- **Language:** Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Familiarity with Veterans, particularly those in Pain Clinic or intensive outpatient programs for mental illness and pain syndromes.
- Familiarity and skill in evidence-based practices.
- At least two years of specialized social work practice in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- Certification or post-master's training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university in a specialty area, including a defined curriculum/course of study and supervised experience.
