The Washington Post is seeking a **Senior Product Manager** to join our Content Experience Product team, reporting to the Head of WP Product and Product Design. This role is crucial for evolving how users engage with our journalism across various formats (text, video, audio) and platforms (web, app, distributed channels).

  • *About the Role:**
You will help shape the user experience of how our stories are presented, consumed, and optimized for impact. Success requires deep partnership with the newsroom, aligning product decisions with journalistic goals, audience needs, and platform strategy.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Lead strategy and execution for initiatives shaping journalism presentation and experience.
  • Partner closely with editorial stakeholders to understand goals and foster storytelling innovation.
  • Define and manage product roadmaps to improve content presentation, user engagement, and overall experience.
  • Drive product discovery and experimentation with engineering, design, and newsroom teams.
  • Clearly communicate vision, priorities, and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to product culture through mentorship, clear thinking, and strong ownership.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • 5–7 years of product management experience, including ownership of consumer-facing digital products.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Media, Computer Science, Business).
  • Experience working in content or information-driven companies.
  • Strong track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with editorial and technical teams.
  • Ability to think strategically and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Experience at a media company or with audience-facing multimedia products (e.g., video players, streaming platforms).
  • Familiarity with generative AI technologies and their incorporation into user-facing products.
  • Understanding of content packaging, distribution strategies, and engagement metrics.
  • *Work Environment:**
This role is on-site five days a week in a collaborative office setting.

  • *Compensation & Benefits:**
  • **Salary Range:** $119,700 - $199,300 Annual (based on skills, experience, and qualifications).
