Summary

Seeking an experienced HR Benefits Specialist to administer complex federal employee benefits, interpret regulations, and advise staff.

Manage and administer comprehensive federal employee benefit programs, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Interpret and apply federal HR laws, regulations, Executive Orders, and policies pertaining to employee benefits.
  • Advise employees on a wide range of benefit topics, including military benefits, veterans’ preference, prior government service, and specific leave programs (e.g., Paid Parental Leave, Voluntary Leave Transfer).
  • Counsel management on benefit program developments and their impact on agency cost, employee well-being, and workforce.
  • Lead efforts to address and resolve complex issues in benefit program administration.
  • Represent the agency on benefit matters, delivering clear and concise presentations at retirement and benefits seminars.
  • Utilize information technology, automated personnel systems, and software applications for efficient benefits management.
  • *Required Qualifications:**
  • Minimum of one year of specialized experience at a comparable level in federal or equivalent public/private sector HR benefits.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal employee benefit program principles, concepts, laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing and interpreting complex federal benefit laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical issues to all organizational levels.
