Senior Attorney Advisor

We are seeking an Attorney Advisor to provide expert legal counsel and support on trade and customs regulations. This role involves interpreting complex legal frameworks and advising on related matters.

• *Basic Qualifications:**
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing of the Bar of a U.S. state, territory, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
• *Experience Requirements:**
• *For GS-14:**
• Minimum of four (4) years of professional legal experience, including:

* One (1) year of general professional legal experience. * Three (3) years of specialized experience as described below.

• *For GS-15:**
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional legal experience, including:

* One (1) year of general professional legal experience. * Four (4) years of specialized experience as described below.

• *Specialized Experience (for both GS-14 & GS-15 levels):**
• Interpreting regulations, Executive Orders, court decisions, and agency determinations related to the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) or U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP).
• Analyzing communications and correspondence to provide technical, legal, and administrative assistance to private sector firms and the general public.
• Providing legal advice to government officials regarding agency activities, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) or the Harmonized System maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO).
• Experience satisfying varied requests for tariff-related information.
