Job Description
Summary
Lead and manage highly sensitive national security and intelligence protection programs as an expert GG-15 Security Professional.
This is a full-performance GG-15 level position (equivalent to GS-15) for a highly experienced security professional. The selectee will play a critical role in managing and developing security programs for sensitive intelligence and defense initiatives.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- **Lead Security Programs:** Plan and implement comprehensive security programs covering SAP (Special Access Program) information, industrial, and personnel security, including USAF research and technology protection.
- **Policy & Strategy Development:** Function as a technical authority, developing innovative solutions to complex security problems and resolving major conflicts in policy and program objectives.
- **Program Management:** Apply comprehensive knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community program management policies.
- **Security Training & Oversight:** Oversee and coordinate all security training, assisting managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
- **Evaluation & Analysis:** Expertly develop, analyze, and evaluate security programs to meet classified mission requirements.
- **Stakeholder Engagement:** Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with high-ranking officials, coworkers, and subordinates, contributing to a cooperative environment.
- **Communication:** Clearly, concisely, and accurately communicate complex information, both orally and in writing, to senior leadership.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Specialized Experience:** Demonstrated mastery in a major area of security specialization, including security administration policy and programs.
- **Advanced Security Knowledge:** Expert knowledge of SAP information, industrial, and personnel security policies, concepts, principles, and practices.
- **Program Management Expertise:** Comprehensive knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and Intelligence Community program management policies and objectives.
- **Problem Solving:** Proven ability to apply theories and develop solutions to security problems not susceptible to standard methods, including resolving major policy conflicts.
- **Leadership:** Experience leading or participating as a technical expert in interagency study groups and planning new, far-reaching security programs.
- **Personnel Management:** Skill in performing a full range of personnel management responsibilities, including technical oversight and advisory functions.
- **Communication Skills:** Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- *Additional Requirements:**
- **Special Sensitive Position:** Requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- **Drug Testing:** This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
- **Certifications:** Must obtain DoD Security Fundamentals Professional, Security Asset Protection Professional, and Special Program Security certifications within two years of hire/assignment.
- **Key Position:** This is a critical role that cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
- **Experience Credit:** Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid, part-time, military, private sector, and volunteer experience.
