Summary

Lead and supervise reprographics and print operations for the U.S. Senate, ensuring compliance and efficient production.

Join the U.S. Senate's essential services team as a Reprographics Lead/Supervisor. This role oversees print, bindery, and mailing operations, ensuring efficient production and compliance with strict regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, assign, and review work for assigned reprographics staff.
  • Manage and optimize resource allocation to meet production and organizational goals.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, tracking expenses.
  • Oversee modern printing, bindery, and mailing processes.
  • Ensure adherence to USPS mailing regulations and Senate policies.
  • Maintain equipment, recommend upgrades, and manage acquisitions.
  • Analyze production methods for continuous improvement and develop actionable plans.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for print processes and quality control.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans.
  • Respond to Senate office inquiries and complaints with tact and timeliness.

Required Qualifications:

  • **Experience:**
* 5+ years in reprographics, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • **Skills & Knowledge:**
* Proficiency in modern printing/mailing technology, computers, and relevant software (spreadsheets, databases). * Knowledge of personnel and financial management. * Ability to develop budgets and monitor expenses. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to learn and apply Senate rules, regulations, and USPS mailing requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Print Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of USPS regulations.
  • Proven ability to maintain equipment and recommend new acquisitions.
  • Strong background in Printing, Bindery, and Mailing best practices.
  • Adept at multitasking, adapting to changing priorities, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Working Environment & Expectations:

  • **Onsite Presence:** Required on the U.S. Senate campus, including during government shutdowns, inclement weather, holidays, and extended hours (late night, overnight, weekends).
  • **Essential Services:** This is an "excepted" position, requiring availability to work during furloughs to support critical Senate operations.
  • **Emergency Recall:** Must be available for sudden recall in emergencies, potentially involving after-hours/weekend work or deployment to alternate sites.
  • **Physical Demands:**
* Ability to remain stationary operating computer/machinery. * Occasional bending, crawling, or standing for long durations. * Frequent movement of boxes/equipment weighing less than 50 pounds.
  • **Work Hazards:** Exposure to excessive noise, moving machinery, chemicals (inks/solvents), and paper dust.
