## Registered Nurse (All Levels)

### Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, knowledge-based patient care across diverse settings.
- Develop and apply technical competencies in nursing practice.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care plans.
- Demonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care (for higher-level positions).
- Manage complex client care situations, potentially extending beyond immediate practice settings (for advanced roles).
- **Language Proficiency:** Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- **Education:**
- **Licensure:** Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
- **Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception:** Candidates meeting educational requirements but awaiting licensure may be appointed temporarily (up to 120 days, extendable) while actively pursuing their RN license.
- **Nurse I (Entry Level):** Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with developing clinical skills. Higher levels require 1-2 years of professional nursing experience or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- **Nurse II (Experienced):** Typically requires a BSN with 2+ years of professional nursing experience, or a Master's degree (MSN) with 1+ year experience, or a Doctoral degree. Demonstrates leadership in holistic care.
- **Nurse III (Advanced/Leadership):** Requires an MSN with 2+ years of specialized experience, or a Doctoral degree with 1+ year specialized experience, demonstrating advanced leadership and complex client care management.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 3 years of Critical Care experience.
- 3 years of RN experience with IV therapy/Vascular Access skills (PICC lines, midlines, peripheral lines).
- Requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity.
- Involves potentially long periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing.
- Ability to transfer patients and objects (mechanical lifts provided).
- May be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials; ability to don protective clothing.
- Occasional exposure to combative patients.
- Must complete annual Employee Health requirements.
- May require driving/riding in GSA-vehicles for home or off-site care.
