Seeking skilled and licensed Professional Nurses for various levels, requiring accredited nursing degrees and progressive clinical experience.

- *Key Responsibilities (Vary by Grade Level):**
- Provide fundamental to complex, knowledge-based patient care.
- Integrate biopsychosocial concepts and demonstrate technical competence.
- Plan and execute nursing practice with conscious deliberation.
- Manage complex patient situations with autonomy.
- Lead and improve holistic care through collaborative strategies.
- Apply experience and creative approaches to managing complex care beyond immediate settings.
- *Basic Requirements:**
- **Language Proficiency:** Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- **Education:** Graduate of a professional nursing school accredited by ACEN or CCNE. This includes Associate Degree (ADN), Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master's in Nursing (MSN), or a Doctoral Degree in Nursing. Master's/Doctoral degrees in a *related field are accepted when combined with a BSN. (Note: Foreign degrees in *related fields are not creditable).
- **Licensure:** Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
- **Foreign Graduates:** Must possess a current, unrestricted U.S. RN registration. Formal equivalency validation from a VA-recognized evaluation service is required for foreign nursing education higher than associate degree/entry level.
- **Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) Exception:** Candidates meeting education requirements but awaiting licensure may be appointed temporarily (up to 2 years) while actively pursuing licensure.
- *Grade Level Requirements (Based on Education and Experience):**
- **Nurse I, Level I:** ADN or Diploma in Nursing.
- **Nurse I, Level II:** ADN/Diploma + 1 year specialized nursing experience (equivalent to Nurse I, Level I); OR BSN.
- **Nurse I, Level III:** ADN/Diploma + 2 years professional nursing experience (1 year equivalent to Nurse I, Level II); OR BSN + 1 year professional nursing experience (equivalent to Nurse I, Level II); OR MSN.
- **Nurse II:** BSN + 2 years professional nursing experience (equivalent to Nurse I, Level III); OR MSN + 1 year specialized nursing experience (equivalent to Nurse I, Level III); or Doctoral Degree in Nursing.
- **Nurse III:** MSN + 2 years specialized nursing experience (1 year equivalent to Nurse II); or Doctoral Degree in Nursing + 1 year specialized nursing experience (equivalent to Nurse II).
- *Preferred Experience:**
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- At least 3 years of Critical Care experience.
- At least 3 years of RN experience with IV therapy/Vascular Access skills (PICC lines, midlines, peripheral lines).
- *Physical Requirements:**
- Requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to endure prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing.
- May involve transferring patients and objects (mechanical lifts provided).
- Potential exposure to infected patients and contaminated materials; requires donning protective clothing.
- Occasional exposure to combative patients.
- Must complete annual Employee Health requirements.
- May require driving/riding in GSA vehicles for off-site care.
