Summary
Skilled Therapeutic Recreation Specialist sought to plan and implement adaptive therapy programs for patient rehabilitation.
Join our team as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, delivering vital recreation therapy services to patients. We are seeking a dedicated professional to enhance patient well-being through innovative and adaptive therapeutic programs.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Evaluate patient history, interests, aptitudes, and skills to inform treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized therapeutic recreation activities.
- Create comprehensive treatment plans for patients experiencing physical, emotional, or social dysfunctions related to leisure.
- Revise treatment plans based on patient progress, diagnoses, and responses to intervention.
- Plan and lead a variety of adaptive recreational activities.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Education:**
- **Experience:**
- **Important Note on Experience:** Experience in activities or programs that did not require the application of therapeutic recreation principles (e.g., Outdoor Recreation Specialist, Commercial Recreation Leader, Vocational Counselor) is not considered qualifying.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience in long-term care settings.
- Experience interacting with geriatric patients.
- *Federal Employment Requirements (if applicable):**
- Applicants for the GS-10 level must have served at the GS-09 level for 52 weeks.
- Current Federal employees on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
- All requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date.
