## IT Security & Cybersecurity Specialist/Lead (SV-I/GS-13 to SV-J/GS-14 Equivalent)

Join our team as an IT Security and Cybersecurity professional, focusing on developing, implementing, and leading robust security strategies, ensuring infrastructure protection, and managing complex IT projects across various experience levels.

### Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive IT security and cybersecurity strategies.
• Apply advanced IT security practices and cybersecurity principles to protect infrastructure.
• Manage and lead complex IT projects, including planning, resource allocation, and reporting.
• Utilize security scanning tools (e.g., AppScan, Tenable Nessus, BurpSuite Professional) and interpret results.
• (For higher levels) Lead the full project lifecycle for security strategy implementation.
• (For higher levels) Perform Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties, ensuring NIST compliance and advising leadership on best practices.
• Provide exceptional customer service, assess needs, and resolve IT-related issues.
• Communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Identify and resolve problems using sound judgment.

• One year of specialized experience at the SV-H or GS-12 (Federal service or equivalent private sector).
• Developing and implementing IT security/cybersecurity strategies.
• Applying IT security practices and cybersecurity principles for infrastructure protection.
• Applying project management principles for complex IT projects (e.g., planning, scheduling, resource management, defining deliverables).
• Experience with security scanning tools (AppScan, Tenable Nessus, BurpSuite Professional) including interpreting scan results.
• *For SV-J Pay Band (Equivalent to GS-14):**
• One year of specialized experience at the SV-I or GS-13 (Federal service or equivalent private sector).
• Leading the planning and implementation of IT security/cybersecurity strategies throughout the project life cycle.
• Performing Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties, ensuring NIST compliance, and advising leadership on cybersecurity best practices.
• Applying project management principles for complex IT projects (e.g., planning, scheduling, resource management, defining deliverables).
• Experience with security scanning tools (AppScan, Tenable Nessus, BurpSuite Professional) including interpreting scan results.
• *General Experience Notes:**
• Equivalent experience in the private sector is accepted.
• Volunteer experience (e.g., National Service programs) is credited.
