Job Description

Summary

Program Examiner needed to analyze policy, evaluate programs, develop recommendations, and report findings to senior management.

Join our team as a Program Examiner, applying analytical methods to evaluate programs and policies. This role involves developing key recommendations and preparing reports for management. We are looking for individuals across multiple experience levels.

  • *Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:**
  • *Program Examiner (Entry to Mid-Level - GS-11 Equivalent):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 level, performing tasks such as:
* Applying analytical methods to evaluate program policy. * Assisting in developing recommendations for high-level decision makers. * Delivering status reports and correspondence to managers.
  • **Education (Alternative to Experience):** A Ph.D., equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or an LL.M. degree (if related), demonstrating relevant competencies.
  • **Combination:** A combination of qualifying education and experience is also accepted.
  • *Program Examiner (Mid-Level - GS-12 Equivalent):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level, demonstrating ability to:
* Apply advanced analytical methods for program evaluation and policy issue analysis. * Recommend strategies for improving program operations. * Conduct in-depth analyses of policy issues to highlight alternate solutions.

  • *Senior Program Examiner (Advanced Level - GS-13 Equivalent):**
  • **Experience:** One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level, demonstrating ability to:
* Review and advise on the preparation of formal documents (e.g., Executive Orders, budget submissions, policy guidance). * Participate in or lead negotiations on complex policy issues. * Conduct comprehensive policy analyses to highlight alternate solutions and effectively defend recommendations. * Compile narrative and statistical material for briefing senior management officials.

  • *General Requirements:**
  • All qualifying experience, including paid and unpaid volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps), will be credited.
