Job Description

Summary

Analyze international finance and investment, advising leadership on economic policy and national security implications.

This role involves conducting critical financial and economic analyses to inform U.S. policy decisions related to international finance, investment, and national security. We are seeking candidates at various experience levels (GS-11, GS-12, GS-13) with increasing responsibility.

  • *Key Responsibilities (Based on Experience Level):**
  • **GS-13 (Senior):** Lead and manage complex market, financial, legal, or economic analyses (e.g., due diligence, risk exposure, credit analysis). Advise senior leadership and develop policy recommendations based on research and analytical results. Address international financial, investment, or foreign direct investment issues involving significant economic or national security considerations.
  • **GS-12 (Mid-Level):** Independently conduct market, financial, legal, or economic analyses. Develop and communicate analytical findings and recommendations to senior decision-makers or interagency partners. Evaluate international financial and investment policy issues or foreign direct investment to assess economic or national security risks.
  • **GS-11 (Entry-Level):** Assist in conducting market, financial, legal, or economic analyses (e.g., data gathering for due diligence, risk exposure). Prepare draft reports or summaries of research findings. Support research on international financial and investment policy issues or foreign direct investment to identify potential economic or national security implications.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • **Experience (One year of full-time specialized experience at the following levels):**
* **GS-13:** Equivalent to the GS-12 level, leading/managing complex analyses and advising senior leadership on international financial policy. * **GS-12:** Equivalent to the GS-11 level, independently conducting analyses and communicating findings to decision-makers. * **GS-11:** Equivalent to the GS-9 level, assisting in analyses and supporting research on international financial issues. * *Specialized experience for all levels involves market, financial, legal, or economic analyses related to international finance, investment, or national security.*
  • **Education (May substitute for experience):**
* Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. * 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. * LL.M. (if related).
  • **Combination:** A combination of qualifying education and experience is accepted.
  • **Federal Specific:** Current federal employees must meet applicable Time-in-Grade requirements.
