## Financial Policy Analyst (Emerging Technologies & Illicit Finance)

This is an open continuous announcement for various GS levels (GS-09, GS-11, GS-12, GS-13) for skilled professionals dedicated to safeguarding U.S. financial integrity.

We are seeking analysts to monitor, research, and develop policy recommendations concerning illicit financial threats and rapidly evolving financial technologies. You will play a critical role through expert analysis and strategic engagement with diverse stakeholders.

### Key Responsibilities (Vary by GS Level):

  • Monitor and analyze developments in emerging financial technologies (e.g., virtual assets, Central Bank Digital Currencies, Artificial Intelligence) and their potential impact.
  • Research and identify illicit financial threats to the U.S.
  • Assist in or lead the creation of policies to counter financial risks.
  • Communicate complex research findings and policy recommendations effectively to senior decision-makers and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive briefings, policies, and finished documents.
  • Engage with the public, international organizations, foreign governments, and the intelligence community on policy issues.
### Qualifications:

  • *To qualify, you must meet the requirements for one of the following GS levels:**
  • **GS-13:**
* **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, including monitoring emerging technologies, assisting with policy creation on illicit financial threats, communicating research/policy recommendations to senior leaders, and engaging external parties on policy. * **Education (Substitution):** Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of related graduate education, or an LL.M.

  • **GS-12:**
* **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, including researching illicit financial threats/emerging technologies, communicating research results, and engaging external parties on policy issues.

  • **GS-11:**
* **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, including preparing briefings/policies/documents, and engaging with external stakeholders (public, international organizations, intelligence community, foreign governments). * **Education (Substitution):** Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of related graduate education, or an LL.M.

  • **GS-09:**
* **Experience:** One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, including preparing briefings, policies, or finished documents. * **Education (Substitution):** Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of related graduate education, or an LL.B./J.D.

  • *General Qualification Notes:**
  • Experience may be gained in public, private, or volunteer sectors. Full-time work equivalent; part-time work is prorated.
