Summary
Seeking Federal Law Enforcement Officers to apply complex regulations and sound judgment, meeting specific age and retirement criteria.
This Federal Law Enforcement Officer position requires individuals who can learn and apply complex regulations and procedures while exercising sound judgment.
- *Key Qualifications:**
- **Experience:** At least one year of progressively responsible experience demonstrating the ability to learn and apply detailed regulations and make sound judgments. Qualifying experience includes, but is not limited to, police work, military police, specialized military experience, security guard duties, physical security, visitor protection, law enforcement in natural resources, criminal investigations, or supervisory/managerial experience involving independent critical task management.
- **Education:** Alternatively, successful completion of 60 credit hours (2 years) of higher education.
- **Combination:** A successful combination of qualifying education and experience is also accepted.
- *Important Requirements:**
- **Age Limit:** Applicants must be between 21 and 37 years old by the entry date of this position. Exceptions may apply for individuals with prior Federal primary covered service or qualified veterans' preference eligibles.
- **Federal Law Enforcement Retirement:** This position is covered by special federal law enforcement retirement provisions, with a mandatory retirement age of 57. Proof of your status in the Law Enforcement retirement system is required.
- **Volunteer Experience:** Qualifying volunteer experience is recognized and will be credited.
- **Documentation:** Transcripts are required if qualifying by education or a combination of education and experience.
