## Physician (Urology Focus) - Veterans Affairs

### Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to veteran patients.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with VA medical standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
### Minimum Qualifications
  • **Citizenship:** Must be a U.S. Citizen. (Non-citizens may be considered in specific circumstances).
  • **Education:** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (do) degree from a VA-approved institution.
  • **Licensure:** Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
  • **Residency Training:** Completion of an accredited core specialty residency program (e.g., ACGME, AOA approved) or equivalent foreign training approved by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee.
  • **Language:** Proficient in spoken and written English.
### Preferred Experience
  • At least one year of Urology experience within the VA system.
  • Experience with Tele-Health services.
### Physical and Environmental Demands This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity. Incumbents must be able to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing, including transferring patients and objects. The role may involve exposure to infected patients and contaminated materials, necessitating the use of protective clothing. Occasional exposure to combative patients is also possible. Candidates must be mature, flexible, and capable of managing stressful situations and shifting priorities based on patient needs. Annual Employee Health requirements, such as TB screening, are mandatory. Driving GSA vehicles for off-site care may be required.

### Note on Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) Fully licensed physicians currently in ACGME/AOA accredited residency programs may be considered for intermittent or fee-basis PRP appointments, performing restricted duties under supervision. They are not independent practitioners.
