Job Description
Summary
Seeking a licensed Physician with an MD/DO degree and accredited residency to provide comprehensive medical care.
This Physician role requires a dedicated medical professional to provide comprehensive patient care.
Key Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may be considered under specific VA policy).
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (do) degree from a VA-approved medical school.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty program (ACGME, AOA, or approved non-U.S. residencies with 5+ years U.S. practice).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board Certification.
- Prior VHA (VA Health Administration) experience, especially in Primary Care.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform intermittent lifting (up to 35 lbs, with assistive devices for over 35 lbs), moderate carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulders, walking, standing, kneeling, and repeated bending.
Important Notes:
- Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be referred but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.
- Currently employed VA physicians who met previous qualification standards are considered to have met basic requirements.
- Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) who are fully licensed (not training license) may be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis under supervision.
