Summary
Seeking a licensed Physician with accredited residency training to provide medical care in a government healthcare setting.
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified Physician to provide comprehensive medical care. This role requires a dedicated professional with a strong clinical background and commitment to patient well-being.
- *Key Responsibilities (Implicit from Qualifications):**
- Provide medical or osteopathic care to patients.
- Diagnose and treat various conditions.
- Potentially engage in telehealth services and PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team) models.
- Adhere to all medical ethics and professional standards.
- *Basic Requirements:**
- **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship (Non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens are unavailable).
- **Education:** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from a VA-approved medical or osteopathic school.
- **Licensure:** Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- **Residency Training:** Completion of an accredited residency training program (ACGME or AOA approved), leading to eligibility for board certification. Non-U.S. residency training followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the U.S. may also be accepted.
- **Language:** Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- *Preferred Experience:**
- Two years of recent PACT VA experience.
- Two years of VA Telehealth experience (VVC/CVT).
- *Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to perform duties requiring visual acuity, keen hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity.
- Capacity for prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing.
- May involve transferring patients and objects.
- Exposure to infected patients and contaminated materials, requiring the use of protective clothing.
- Occasional exposure to combative patients.
- Must be mature, flexible, and capable of working effectively in stressful situations with shifting priorities.
- Completion of annual Employee Health requirements (e.g., TB screening).
- May require driving and/or riding in GSA vehicles for off-site patient care.
