Physician (Psychiatrist)

• *Key Requirements:**
• **Education:** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (do) degree from a VA-approved medical school.
• **Licensure:** Current, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• **Residency:** Completion of an accredited core specialty residency program approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, qualifying for board certification eligibility.

* *Approved residencies include those from ACGME, AOA, or certain non-U.S. residencies with 5+ years of verified U.S. practice.*

• **Citizenship:** U.S. Citizenship is required. (Non-citizens may be considered if qualified U.S. citizens are unavailable per VA policy).
• **Language:** Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written English.
• *Preferred Qualifications:**
• Previous experience in telehealth services, including familiarity with platforms and remote patient care best practices.
• *Physical and Mental Demands:**
• Ability to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting (45+ lbs), light carrying, reaching, and full use of hands and fingers.
• Capability for prolonged walking and standing (up to 8 hours).
• Strong mental and muscular coordination, adequate vision (near, far, color distinction) and hearing (hearing aids permitted).
• Proven mental and emotional stability to manage stressful situations, strict deadlines, and maintain high accuracy.
• Must be adaptable, sensible, and able to effectively prioritize patient care needs.
