Job Description
Summary
Seeking a licensed Physician (MD/DO) with accredited residency training for a primary care role, preferably with outpatient experience.
This Physician position at the VA requires a highly qualified medical professional.
- *Key Requirements:**
- **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship required; non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens are unavailable.
- **Education:** Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from a VA-approved medical school.
- **Licensure:** Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
- **Residency Training:** Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, leading to eligibility for board certification. Approved residencies include those by ACGME, AOA, or certain non-U.S. programs with 5+ years verified U.S. practice.
- **Language:** Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- At least 5 years of outpatient primary care practice experience.
- *Special Consideration for Residents:**
- Residents currently enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs may be eligible for "Physician Resident Provider" (PRP) roles. PRPs must be fully licensed (not training license), appointed intermittently/fee-basis, and perform restricted, supervised duties without independent privileging.
- *Physical Demands:**
- Mostly sedentary work with some standing, bending, and carrying light items.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods to interact with patients and other services.
