• *Responsibilities (vary by grade level, PA-I to PA-III):**
• Conduct patient histories and physical examinations.
• Formulate and implement patient treatment plans.
• Provide care aligned with current medical advancements.
• Analyze and resolve complex medical problems.
• Function autonomously and make independent medical decisions.
• Incorporate telehealth into patient care delivery.
• Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Lead and organize patient care independently (Full Performance).
• Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and judgment in decision-making and outcome evaluation (Full Performance).
• Evaluate patient care delivery systems and identify improvement areas (Full Performance).
• Implement and initiate clinical changes to treatment protocols (Full Performance).
• Participate in patient care audit processes (Full Performance).
• *Basic Requirements (Applicable to all grades):**
• Master's degree in any discipline or Bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of Physician Assistant experience.
• Successful completion of the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) or actively in the process of taking the exam.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• *Preferred Experience:**
• Minimum 3 years of Primary Care healthcare provider experience.
• Minimum 1 year of VA Primary Care healthcare provider experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Telehealth healthcare experience.
• *Grade Determinations (PA-I, PA-II, PA-III):**
• **PA-I (Entry Level):** Meets basic requirements, demonstrates fundamental PA practice abilities.
• **PA-II (Intermediate Level):** Requires 2+ years successful PA practice or completion of a PA post-graduate residency or a doctoral degree in a health-related field. Demonstrates ability to analyze complex problems and function autonomously.
• **PA-III (Full Performance Level):** Requires 3+ years successful PA practice or completion of a PA post-graduate residency + 1 year PA practice or a doctoral degree + 1 year PA practice. Leads patient care, utilizes advanced judgment, and contributes to system improvements.
• *Physical Requirements:**
• Light to moderate lifting (up to 44 pounds).
• Use of fingers, walking (4-6 hours), standing (4-6 hours).
• Near vision correctable at 13" to 16" to Jaeger 1 to 4.
• Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other.
• Ability to distinguish basic colors and hearing (aid permitted).
