## Physician Assistant - III (PA-III)
Join our team as a Physician Assistant - III (PA-III), a full-performance level role emphasizing independent patient care leadership, advanced clinical expertise, and seamless coordination within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
### Core Responsibilities
- Lead and organize patient care independently across the healthcare system.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, coordinating all aspects of patient care.
- Apply advanced clinical knowledge and judgment in decision-making and evaluating outcomes.
- Serve as a clinical expert, potentially mentoring transitioning PAs and training healthcare students.
- Evaluate patient care delivery systems, identifying and addressing barriers to safe and effective care.
- Demonstrate elevated expertise and autonomy in diagnosing and treating seriously ill, multi-symptomatic patients.
- Present clinical findings and recommendations to appropriate management officials.
- Facilitate patient care in collaboration with health professionals, managers, and other personnel.
- Implement evidence-based clinical changes to established treatment protocols to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in PA patient care audit processes, including in-depth medical record review and analysis.
- *Basic Requirements:**
- United States Citizenship.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- *Education & Experience (Meet one of the following):**
- Three years of successful professional practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Successful completion of a VHA Office of Academic Affiliations sponsored or other accredited post-graduate PA residency program, plus one year of professional PA practice.
- A doctoral degree in a health-related field from an accredited college or university, plus one year of professional PA practice.
- *Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**
- Ability to clinically evaluate facility patient care delivery systems.
- Skill to consistently demonstrate an elevated level of expertise and autonomy in diagnosing and treating seriously ill, multi-symptomatic patients.
- Ability to present clinical findings and recommendations to appropriate management officials.
- Ability to clinically facilitate the delivery of patient care in collaboration with health professionals and managers.
- Ability to implement clinical changes to established treatment protocols based on new medical literature.
- Ability to participate clinically in the development of PA patient care audit processes.
- 2-3 years of experience working in Hematology/Oncology.
- Lifting up to 35 pounds intermittently; moderate carrying (15-35 pounds).
- Lifting over 35 pounds with assistive devices (except in emergent situations).
- Intermittent pulling, pushing, reaching above the shoulders (both hands required).
- Intermittent walking, standing, kneeling, and repeated bending.
