Summary
Advance numerical environmental and weather modeling by improving techniques, generating reports, and coordinating research-to-operational transitions.
This position requires expertise in numerical environmental and weather modeling. We are seeking a professional to advance modeling techniques and facilitate the transition of research into operational use.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Improve techniques for utilizing observations, physical parameterizations, or dynamics in numerical environmental or weather modeling applications.
- Generate comprehensive written reports and briefings on numerical environmental or weather modeling outcomes.
- Coordinate the seamless transition of numerical environmental or weather modeling technologies from research to operational implementation.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Education:** A degree in Physical Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, including at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering sciences (e.g., mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, electronics). or A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering sciences. *Transcripts must be submitted with your application.*
- **Experience:** One year of specialized experience at a professional level, which includes:
- Relevant paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, will be considered.*
