Summary
Lead national/VISN pharmacy programs, requiring a licensed Pharmacist (Pharm.D.) with program management and advanced clinical expertise.
Join our team as a Program Manager Pharmacist, leading national or VISN-level pharmacy programs impacting veteran care. This critical role involves strategic collaboration with federal agencies and external healthcare organizations to ensure program success, leveraging expert clinical communication, resource management, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage and direct national or VISN-level pharmacy programs, collaborating with federal agencies (e.g., NIH, DoD, FDA) and external organizations.
- Develop and implement operational programs, utilizing regulatory and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and oversight for diverse programs and teams.
- Communicate complex clinical and technical issues effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Optimize resource utilization to support organizational mission and goals.
- *Qualifications:**
- **Citizenship:** Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- **Education:** Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy and/or Pharm.D. degree.
- **Licensure:** Possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of professional experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in program management or advanced pharmacy practice.
- **Language:** Proficient in spoken and written English.
- *Required Skills:**
- Ability to persuade and gain cooperation to achieve objectives.
- Strong oral and written communication for complex clinical and technical topics.
- Proficiency in applying regulatory and quality standards for program development.
- Proven ability to manage multiple and diverse people or programs.
- Resourcefulness in supporting organizational missions.
- *Preferred Qualifications:**
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- Prior experience in Pain Management Opioid Safety and Prescription Drug Monitoring (PMOP).
- Demonstrated program management experience.
- *Work Environment & Travel:**
- Physical requirements include moderate lifting (15-44 lbs), light carrying, pulling, reaching, and color distinction; may require PPE and annual TB screening.
- Frequent travel to other VA facilities, CBOCs, or patient care sites for direct care or training is required, with potential for extended travel for locums-type services.
