Security Specialist (GS-09/11)

We are seeking a dedicated Security Specialist to manage and adjudicate suitability background investigations, ensuring compliance and accurate credentialing for federal positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and adjudicate suitability background investigations.
• Review documents meticulously for accuracy and completeness.
• Organize and manage essential documents for security credentialing.
• Track the movement and status of security packages throughout the process.
• For GS-11: Develop and maintain relationships with federal agencies (e.g., DCSA) to monitor investigations, stay updated on personnel security policies, and exchange best practices.

Qualifications:

Grade 09:

• Experience: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to GS-07) in initiating/adjudicating investigations, document review, organization, and package tracking.
• Education: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education; or an LL.B./J.D. (if related).
• Combination: An equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education.

Grade 11:

• Experience: Specialized experience covering all Grade 09 responsibilities, plus maintaining relationships with federal security agencies for investigation monitoring and policy adherence.
• Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education; or an LL.M. (if related).
• Combination: An equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education.

Note: All qualifying experience, including paid and volunteer work, is considered. If qualifying by foreign education, proof of U.S. accreditation is required.
