Summary

Paralegal Specialist (GS-11) for criminal prosecution support, requiring specialized legal research, case management, and document preparation experience/education.

Join our team as a Paralegal Specialist (GS-11) to provide essential legal support for criminal prosecution proceedings. This role involves comprehensive case development, documentation, and litigation preparation.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case development.
  • Prepare a variety of substantive legal documents, applying knowledge of established precedents.
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate evidence relevant to litigation.
  • Provide comprehensive case management, organization, and indexing of legal documents, information, and exhibits.
  • Prepare exhibits for court presentations, including visual materials (charts, diagrams, photographs, models).
  • Compose professional legal correspondence.
  • Utilize legal databases for data searches, report design, and information retrieval assignments.
  • *Qualifications (GS-11 Level):**

Candidates must meet *one* of the following criteria:

    Specialized Experience:**

  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal Service, demonstrating knowledge of legal research and analysis principles, concepts, and methods in criminal prosecution. This includes experience in:
* Preparing substantive legal documents. * Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating evidence. * Compiling information on legal subjects. * Providing case management and organization. * Preparing court exhibits. * Composing legal correspondence. * Using legal databases for data retrieval.

  • *2. Education:**
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
  • 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or
  • An LL.M. degree (e.g., in Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field).
  • *3. Combination:**
  • A combination of specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (exceeding 2 full years), which collectively meets 100% of the qualification requirements.
