Job Title: Operations and Communications Specialist Organization: Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality (GCPI) Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid) About GCPI: The Georgetown Center on Poverty & Inequality (GCPI) is a research center focused on generating policy solutions to improve the lives of people experiencing poverty in the U.S. We collaborate with government and movement leaders to provide evidence-based ideas, increase economic well-being, and advance racial and gender equity. Job Summary: The Operations and Communications Specialist helps manage the daily operations of GCPI, primarily in areas of operations, communications, finance, purchasing, and support services. This role involves performing a variety of complex administrative, financial, and communication duties. Key Responsibilities: * Manage daily center operations, including finance, purchasing, and support. * Develop project plans, operational guidance, and track center activities/outputs. * Assist with executive scheduling. * Develop and monitor contracts and revenue-generating agreements. * Prepare expense reports and handle various financial data. * Develop internal/external communications materials and update the website. * Liaise with various university departments (e.g., Financial Affairs, Procurement, Communications). Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. * Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, communications, and/or finance. * Commitment to GCPI’s mission of poverty and inequality solutions. * Proven experience performing complex operations duties and financial transactions. * Strong writing and communication skills, including ability to synthesize complex ideas for diverse audiences. * Experience with digital media, graphic, and layout design (InDesign/Illustrator preferred). * Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to efficiently manage a high volume of work. * Self-driven, proactive, and collaborative work ethic. * Flexibility and enthusiasm for learning. * Demonstrated skills and values in race, class, and gender equity and inclusion. * Working knowledge of Workday and Georgetown Management System (GMS) is a plus. * Knowledge of issues related to poverty and inequality, including lived experience, is valued. Compensation: $21.16 - $35.29 per hour (Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications and experience).
