Full Stack Web & App Developer

The Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a national non-profit, seeks a skilled Full Stack Web & App Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of secure, accessible, and high-performing digital platforms. This crucial role ensures intuitive and compliant experiences for patients, caregivers, clinicians, and researchers across mission-critical platforms like BlueHQ, K-SPY, research portals, and public web properties.

• *Position Type:** Full-Time, Exempt
• *Compensation:** $120,000-$140,000 annual salary; healthcare benefits included.
• *Key Responsibilities:**
• **Lead Human-Centered Design:** Collaborate on UX strategy for multi-sided platforms, ensuring intuitive, accessible, and emotionally resonant experiences for diverse audiences (patients, caregivers, clinicians, researchers).
• **Ensure Compliance:** Apply strict ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA and HIPAA/HITECH standards in all UX and development decisions.
• **Bridge Design, Data & AI:** Integrate UX with backend architecture, data pipelines, and analytics, designing interfaces for AI-assisted tools to enhance navigation and decision-making.
• **Build Scalable Design Systems:** Develop reusable design systems, component libraries, and UI/UX standards to ensure consistency and accelerate iteration across web and mobile environments.
• **Elevate Platform Strategy:** Align platform UX with organizational objectives, managing integrations with third-party systems for events, advocacy, and fundraising.
• **Drive Feedback Loops:** Design and execute UX research plans (interviews, surveys, usability testing) to gather insights and translate them into product and design decisions.
• **Front-End & Mobile Development:** Build responsive web interfaces (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript ES6+, React preferred, TailwindCSS) and mobile applications (React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android). Integrate with REST/GraphQL APIs and optimize performance.
• **Back-End Development:** Create secure APIs and server-side applications (Node.js, PHP, Python). Manage relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift), implement secure authentication (AWS Cognito), and apply role-based access control (RBAC).
• **Cloud & CI/CD:** Configure hosting, authentication, API management, and monitoring pipelines (e.g., AWS Amplify, GitHub Actions), supporting both web and mobile deployment.
• **Integration & Data Capture:** Build dynamic form workflows (Amplify Studio, REDCap), integrated with various third-party systems.
• **Security & Accessibility:** Enforce ADA/WCAG compliance and HIPAA/HITECH secure UX principles, conduct vulnerability scanning, and apply secure coding best practices.
• *Qualifications:**
• 8+ years of full stack development experience with demonstrated UX ownership.
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred) and CSS frameworks (TailwindCSS).
• Experience with AWS Amplify and Cognito (or equivalent hosting/authentication platforms).
• Strong API integration skills (REST, GraphQL, API Gateway).
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, headless CMS).
• Working knowledge of UX research tools and methodologies.
• Proven experience with HIPAA-compliant UX and secure data handling.
• Mobile development experience (React Native, Flutter, or native iOS/Android languages) preferred.
