## Occupational Therapist (GS-9 to GS-12)

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist, where you'll provide comprehensive care to patients from entry-level to advanced roles. We are seeking dedicated professionals to assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions, enhancing patient independence and quality of life. Positions are available across various experience levels, from GS-9 to GS-12, based on qualifications.

### Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and interpret evaluations to develop individualized intervention plans.
  • Implement treatment plans, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor patient responses to interventions, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations in patient care and the environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • **For GS-12:** Apply advanced OT principles, solve complex clinical problems, fabricate/modify orthoses and adaptive equipment, and conduct clinical training.
### Qualifications

#### Basic Requirements

  • **Citizenship:** United States Citizenship is required.
  • **Education:**
* Master's or higher degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-approved program (including internship). **or** * Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved program (prior to AOTA January 1, 2005 decision) **PLUS** two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist **or** two (2) full years of graduate education in a related field.
  • **Certification:** Current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist.
  • **Licensure:** Full, current, and unrestricted state license to practice Occupational Therapy.
  • **Note for Recent Graduates (GS-9 only):** Applicants pending NBCOT certification and/or state licensure may be appointed temporarily (up to two years). Certification and licensure are required for promotion to GS-11 and above.
#### Grade-Specific Requirements

  • **GS-9 Occupational Therapist (Entry Level):** Meets all basic requirements.
  • **GS-11 Occupational Therapist:**
* **Experience/Education:** One (1) year of experience equivalent to the GS-9 level; **or** Three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to an OT degree or related field; **or** Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. * **Demonstrated Skills:** Knowledge of OT practice, ability to administer/interpret evaluations, develop/implement/monitor intervention plans, communicate effectively, knowledge of health/safety regulations, and documentation practices.

  • **GS-12 Occupational Therapist (Full Performance):**
* **Experience:** One (1) year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. * **Demonstrated Skills:** Advanced knowledge of OT principles consistent with current clinical standards, strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to use critical analysis and clinical reasoning for complex problem-solving, skill in procuring/fabricating/modifying orthoses and adaptive equipment, and ability to conduct clinical training.
