Job Description

Summary

U.S. Citizen ICU Nurse needed with 1+ year critical care experience, active RN license, and specialized equipment proficiency.

Join our team as a highly skilled Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse, providing critical care to patients. We are seeking dedicated professionals with a strong background in acute care and emergency response.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for critically ill patients.
  • Administer patient medications via various routes, including direct intravenous.
  • Provide immediate emergency and life-saving interventions in critical situations.
  • Operate and manage specialized medical equipment such as epidurals, IV pumps, and ventilators.
  • *Qualifications:**
  • *Required Education:**
  • A graduate, bachelor's, associate, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing program (e.g., CCNE, COA, ACME, or U.S. Department of Education recognized). Transcripts are required.
  • *Required Licensure:**
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
  • Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Proof of licensure is required.
  • *Required Professional Experience:**
  • At least one full year of professional nursing experience, including:
* Developing care plans for critically ill patients. * Administering medications (IV and other routes). * Providing emergency/life-saving measures in life-threatening situations. * Utilizing specialized medical equipment (e.g., epidurals, IV pumps, ventilators).
  • *Note: This experience must be at a level comparable to the federal GS-11 grade.* Volunteer experience that meets the criteria will be considered.
  • *For Foreign-Educated Nurses:**
  • Completion of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) Certification Program, including credentials evaluation, CGFNS Qualifying Exam, and approved English Language Proficiency examination. A CGFNS Certificate is required.
  • *Preferred (but not required):**
  • Experience working in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  • *Important Notes:**
  • **Eligibility:** Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • **Experience Only:** Education *cannot* be substituted for the required professional experience for this position.
  • **Federal Employee Exemption:** Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series, continuously employed since September 27, 2017, or earlier, may be exempt from basic education/licensure requirements. Documentation is required.
