## Clinical Nurse
Provide comprehensive clinical nursing care, manage specialized equipment, and administer medications.
- *Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients.
- Monitor, operate, and maintain specialized medical equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately.
- *Required Qualifications:**
- **Education:**
* A graduate, bachelor's, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program (accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or a U.S. Department of Education recognized body). * *For Foreign Degrees:* Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (
CGFNS) is required.
* Current, active, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (
RN) license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. * Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (
NCLEX).
- **Experience/Advanced Degree (Meet ONE of the following):**
* **Option 1:** At least one (1) full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to
GS-9 grade level or above) that includes providing comprehensive patient care, monitoring specialized equipment, and administering medications. * **or** * **Option 2:** A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
- *Note for Current Federal Employees:**
Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series, continuously employed since September 27, 2017, or before, may qualify under alternative criteria (e.g., specific doctoral degree completion or higher-level graduate education in nursing). Appropriate documentation will be required to validate your status.
