Job Description

Summary

Licensed clinical professional sought to provide independent counseling, assessment, and case management for military community families.

We are seeking a dedicated clinical practitioner to provide essential support services. This position requires a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 Federal level or in the private/public sector.

  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Apply knowledge of military lifestyles and common stressors to effectively tailor treatment programs for the military community.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, and policies related to child and spouse abuse, applying knowledge of family violence dynamics to identify situations, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate safety planning.
  • Utilize knowledge of family systems, human behavior, and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to assess mental disorders, personal, and social problems, ensuring accurate conclusions and appropriate solutions.
  • Employ various evidence-based and trauma-informed counseling approaches, including clinical treatment principles, group dynamics, motivational interviewing, developmental psychology, and family systems therapy, to counsel individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Assess, triage, refer, and manage difficult and serious cases involving individuals and families who present at-risk behavior, utilizing various counseling approaches, including psychosocial methods.
  • Communicate effectively using various verbal methods and techniques to work with diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds; present sensitive or controversial information; discuss cases; deliver presentations; and develop and maintain professional relationships.
  • *Required Qualifications (Tier Two Clinical Care Practitioner - SECNAVINST 1754.8):**
  • **Education:** Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited program in one of the following:
* Counseling (CACREP-accredited) * Marriage and Family Therapy (COAMFTE-accredited) * Social Work (CSWE-accredited) * Clinical or Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited with a one-year APA-accredited clinical internship).
  • **Licensure:** Current state or U.S. territory license/certification providing legal authority to practice independently as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, or Counseling Psychologist.
  • **Examination:** Achieved a passing score on the required written examination for state/territory licensing or certification.
  • **Experience:** Two years of full-time, post-master's supervised clinical experience.
