Job Description
Seeking a Professional Engineer to manage facility design, construction, and mechanical systems, supporting projects from concept to completion.
We are seeking dedicated Professional Engineers to join our team. This role involves comprehensive engineering support for facility construction projects, from design and technical review to contract management and project oversight. Candidates will be considered for GS-13 or GS-12 levels based on qualifications.
**For the GS-13 Position:**
* **Mandatory Requirement:** Must possess a current, valid Professional Engineer (PE) license from a U.S. State, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. A copy of your active license is required with application.
* **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level (Federal service) or equivalent in the private/public sector. This includes:
* Conducting technical reviews of facility construction drawings and specifications for mechanical adequacy and compliance.
* Designing and developing layouts, drawings, and specifications for facility mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, utilities, fuel handling, industrial ventilation).
* Providing Architectural and Engineering (A&E) contract support (e.g., writing statements of work, estimating fees, negotiation, performance monitoring, bid evaluation).
* Managing pre-award design support and all post-award construction aspects of projects.
**For the GS-12 Position:**
* **Experience:** At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level (Federal service) or equivalent in the private/public sector. This includes:
* Utilizing Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG) and energy modeling software (e.g., AutoDesk, Microsoft Office, mechanical design software) to produce design drawings and specifications for mechanical and utility systems.
* Preparing engineering calculations, cost estimates, project documents, reports, and designs.
* Presenting proposed engineering designs, plans, and study results to management and stakeholders.
* Managing pre-award design support and all post-award construction aspects of projects.
**General Experience Note:** Both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, will be considered.
