## Social Media & Marketing Assistant - Kogod Career Development (American University Student Position)

Kogod Career Development is seeking a proactive Social Media & Marketing Assistant to support strategic outreach for undergraduate and graduate business students. This part-time role focuses on enhancing visibility for career development resources, events, workshops, and job opportunities through various digital and print channels.

### Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging content across social media platforms (primarily Instagram, LinkedIn) and other promotional outlets.
• Develop marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and communication materials for career fairs, workshops, and events.
• Attend Career Development events to provide live social media updates, capture photos, and record videos for promotional use.
• Update and maintain the Career Development website.
• Contribute event and opportunity information to the Kogod Bi-Weekly Career Digest newsletter.
• Design promotional slides for faculty to display in classes.
• Track and monitor social media presence, providing monthly and end-of-semester reports.

### Requirements:

• **Must be a currently enrolled American University student.**
• Proficiency with various social media platforms and tools (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn).
• Proven graphic design skills using tools like Canva, Photoshop, PowerPoint, or InDesign.
• Experience in event photography, including use of a DSLR camera.
• Demonstrated experience in marketing strategy development and execution.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills, with a creative approach.
• Flexible, self-motivated, professional, and capable of multitasking both independently and as part of a team.

### Position Details:

• **Type:** Part-time, Student Position
• **Hours:** 8-10 hours per week (combination of remote and in-person work).
• **Compensation:** $18.00 per hour.
• **Start Date:** Ideally before mid-June.
• Expected attendance at the majority of in-person and virtual events hosted by Career Development.
