About the Role:

DCPS seeks a strategic and operational leader for digital content. This role manages the district’s social media, email outreach, and website presence, setting strategy to enhance engagement with families and stakeholders. You will drive audience growth, improve social listening, integrate digital platforms into marketing efforts, and coordinate with web/social media managers across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily digital content operations, including drafting, developing, and curating for all DCPS channels (social media, email, newsletters, websites).
• Design and execute comprehensive digital campaigns for district-wide programs and initiatives.
• Maintain the district’s editorial calendar, aligning with key priorities and operational communications.
• Oversee and update the central DCPS website (dcps.dc.gov) for accuracy, accessibility, and user-friendly navigation.
• Supervise creative staff (e.g., Film Specialist) to ensure timely, high-quality video and photography assets.
• Manage contracts and relationships with digital communications vendors (e.g., translation, email marketing platforms).
• Produce and distribute a regular district-wide newsletter, using multimedia to boost engagement.
• Develop and monitor the efficacy of digital campaigns, reporting analytics and performance metrics to inform strategy.
• Lead digital brand management and consistency, conducting regular audits of platforms to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of related work experience; Master's degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing digital media channels, graphic support staff, and vendors.
• Proven expertise in building and engaging digital audiences (SEO, SEM, paid social ads).
• Excellent copywriting and copy editing skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of performing under tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to staff occasional events on weeknights and weekends.
• Previous exposure or experience in the education sector is a plus.
